First Finals Appearance in Club's History - Cerebus Women's FC

24 August 2022

Cerberus Women’s Football Club have made the finals for the first time in the club’s history. Establishing their inaugural side in 2018, Cerberus have struggled with numbers as recruits come through the base, do their training, and are then moved off throughout the country to begin their careers in the Navy. So, to be able to not only make the finals in 2022 but also finish on top of the ladder, the Navy staff are to be commended for their tireless work in training the recruits to play AFL football. A lot of players can only play half of the season before they complete their Naval training. The team is constantly changing and to make the finals is a fantastic effort.

Adding to this achievement, the Cerberus girls have now booked themselves their first ever Grand Final with a 2-point win over Lang Lang in their Qualifying Final clash on Saturday at Frankston Park (Skybus Stadium). They will now play the winner of the Preliminary Final match between Lang Lang & Mornington’s Reserves in the Division 3 decider on Sunday, September 4th at Frankston Park (Skybus Stadium).
