The FDJFL Saints were very pleased with the start to the AFLSE carnival highlighted by fantastic weather and venues for games across the Kings Birthday weekend.

Matches at Sorrento, Rye and Casey Fields were played in great spirit with the coaching staff thrilled with the efforts of the players putting into practice the fundamental football skills they had learnt throughout the 12 weeks of training. The boys teams performed very strongly with the ball movement and link up teamwork a feature across all age levels. Players were exposed to a variety of positions in the games to test themselves in unfamiliar territory. The girls approached their games with enormous excitement and enthusiasm as always. The Under 14 Girls and Under 18 Girls recording some impressive wins whilst the Under 16 Girls rebounded from a narrow loss to the talented MPJFL side to hit the scoreboard well against Outer East.

The squads now enjoy a break before the recommencement of training for both Division 1 and 2 teams as we look forward to Round 3 plus the all-important second tier games in the school holidays.

St Kilda Academy and the F&DJFL would like to thank the enormous amount of volunteer work done by our fantastic people, to Moorabbin Airport for their support of the program and also to AFLSE for kicking off the championships in style.
