Harris appointed AFL Club Development Lead - South East / van Raay promoted to AFLSE Junior Football Manager

As part of bolstering resources available to help the grassroots game, AFL Victoria has made an important appointment to aid country footy, with Nathan Harris joining as Club Development Lead – South East.

Harris will be focused on providing direct support to clubs in the South East region, helping to set them up for success. The new full-time role funded by AFL Victoria will be an on-the-ground, visible presence working with club committees and be available to assist with specific issues affecting clubs, to drive the prosperity of the grassroots game.

Harris brings extensive experience and local knowledge to the Club Development Lead – South East role, including voluntary work with the Country Fire Authority and community football and cricket. On a professional level, he was most recently Junior Football Operations and Development Manager with AFL South East.

This appointment has created an opportunity for AFL South East Junior Operations Coordinator Caleb van Raay to receive promotion to Junior Football Manager. Caleb has been integral to improving the service to our junior competitions and shown outstanding maturity, a willingness to learn and shown great initiative. For the remainder of the 2023 season, former AFL South East employee Zac Davies will provide support across football operations.

Both Harris and van Raay will commence their new positions on Monday 7 August, 2023.
